Who We Are
Thomas Spitalere is the founder of Essex County Ghost Project. Tom has been investigating and researching for over 15 years. Many have commented on the professionalism and down to earth attitude that he projects when he is working with the public on resolving issues of haunted areas.
Tom received his Bachelors Degree in History and Political Science at Bradford College in 2000. While he was attending Bradford he was active in ghost hunting as a hobby. Before long he began to develop more of an interest in the field and became involved with New England Ghost Project based out of Dracut, MA. After receiving training and establishing his space, Tom ventured into creating the Essex County Ghost Project in 2008. The group ran over a dozen investigations in the firt year it was established under Tom's direction. He furthered his commitments to the paranormal investigation services by becoming the President of the Board of Trustees for the Hilldale Cemetary located in Haverhill, MA. He has been responsible for the cemetary since 2009. Tom's next addition was his paranormal television show "Essex County Ghost Project" which airs to date on a monthly basis. Since obtaining the Hilldale Cemetary, Tom has been dedicated in the restoration of the cemetary as well as other non-profit benefit projects throughout New England. The group has now completed their 350th investigation since opening their doors.

Steve Firmani, is Coordinator for the upcoming New England UFO Conference held on October 17 & 18, 2014 in Leominster, Massachusetts. He is also President and CEO of New England UFO Conferences, Inc. and founder of the World Association for Truth in Ufology, a watchdog organization aimed at educating the public on separating the wheat from the chaff concerning public presentations and perceptions of the UFO phenomena. Firmani is also founder and former Director of the now defunct New England MUFON, a joint effort to organize and merge the Mutual UFO Network’s New England state chapters in CT/RI/MA/NH/ME and VT. New England MUFON was a chapter of the MUFON (Mutual UFO Network), based in California, civilian/scientific UFO tor, Northeastern CMS Administrator and Acting State Director for New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and Vermont before creating the New England organization. Other positions include former Massachusetts State Director and Director of Investigations for the New Hampshire based International Center for Aerial and Abduction Research (ICAAR). Steve has served as an organizer and speaker for the annual Exeter (NH) UFO Festival held every Labor Day weekend in downtown Exeter, New Hampshire for the past 3 years.He has also appeared on various TV news and radio programs throughout the country. He is also featured in the recently released UFO documentary "Strange Septembers". Also featured in this documentary are actors James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons. Over his career in Ufology, Steve has investigated the full spectrum of case types as well as several abduction cases, including the Maryanne Schennefield case in Western Massachusetts. Steve has also worked closely with friend, former MUFON colleague and co-author of the book, Clear Intent and now editor of the UFO Historical review, Barry Greenwood. Steve has also served as New England S IP Coordinator for the MUFON project.
